Our Driveway Construction Process

The number one.

When designing your dream driveway, we work with you to ensure maximum utility and curb appeal. Then we physically mark out where your driveway will live on your landscape so you can start envisioning it.

Design & Layout

The number two.

Excavation

Next, we dig out the outlined area, removing enough to accommodate a deep base layer. This step is crucial in preparing for a robust and enduring foundation.

The number three.

We lay geotechnical fabric to create stability. It separates the subsoil from the base material, ensuring the longevity and integrity of your driveway.

The number four.

Base Material

We then spread and meticulously compact a thick bed of crushed limestone. If needed, we will also use a geo-grid to get greater stability. This limestone will help your driveway withstand heavy loads and the test of time.

The number five.

A finer layer of 1/4 down limestone is then placed on top. This is known as “screed.” This layer provides a level surface for placing the pavers and ensures proper water drainage.

The number six.

Laying the Pavers

The transformation becomes visible when the pavers are laid down. Each paver is positioned precisely to maintain the design and ensure your driveway is level.

The number seven.

Custom-cut pavers are essential for a seamless fit. We meticulously measure and cut the pavers to snugly fit the driveway's perimeter.

Cutting & Fitting

The number eight.

Snap Edging

Anchored with heavy-duty spikes, snap edging is installed to lock everything in place around the driveway's perimeter. This step is critical in preserving the driveway's shape and structural integrity over time.

The number nine.

The finishing touch is pouring polymeric sand into the joints. This locks the pavers together and deters weeds.
